General Said CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff receives in audience the Deputy Minister of DefenCe of the Russian Federation
General Said CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, received today, Friday, 1st November 2024, at the headquarters of the General Staff of People's National Army, Lieutenant General Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, on the sidelines of his visit to Algeria to attend the military parade, organized on the occasion of the commemoration of the glorious Liberation Revolution.
The welcoming ceremony began with the salute of the national flag, followed by the military salute presented to the guest by a military formation, representing the various Forces of People's National Army.
During this audience, which was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Force Commanders, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Chiefs of Departments and the Central Directors of the General Staff of People's National Army and the Ministry of National Defence, as well as the Russian delegation, the General delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to the Russian side for honoring the invitation to take part in the military parade:
"On this occasion, I am pleased to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to you for honoring our invitation to take part in the military parade, organized on the occasion of the commemorative festivities of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Revolution of 1st November 1954, which demonstrates the interest you have in consolidating the historical relations that bind the two countries and reflects your sincere consideration for Algeria." .
The General mentioned the depth of bilateral relations maintained by the two countries, reflected in particular by the positions of the Russian Federation towards Algeria, in the different phases of its history:
"It is important to recall the positions of our Russian friends towards our country, whether during our struggle for national freedom, during the stages of building independent Algeria, in our fight against barbaric terrorism or even today by supporting us in the efforts to build our defensive and deterrent capabilities".
For his part, Lieutenant General Alexandre Fomine said he was happy to visit Algeria and attend the military parade, which he praised, both in terms of organization and execution.
At the end of this meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation signed the guestbook of PNA General Staff.
