Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, supervises the military parade organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious war of liberation of 1st November
In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious war of liberation of 1st November 1954, and with a view to perpetuating our age-old military traditions, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, supervised today, Friday, 1st November, 2024, at the level of national road N°. 11, along the Great Mosque of Algiers, the military parade organized by the People's National Army and attended, as guests of honor, by the Heads of State of Tunisia, Mauritania, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, as well as representatives of certain brotherly and friendly countries.
This military parade was also held in the presence of General Said CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, the President of the Council of the Nation, the President People's National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, members of the Government.
As well as the The Commander of the Republican Guard, the Commanders of Forces, the National Gendarmerie, the Commanders of the Military Regions and Major Generals and Generals of People's National Army, alongside senior state officials, representatives of the revolutionary family, heads of media outlets and the university family, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and defence attachés accredited to Algeria.
Before the start of the parade, Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense inspected, in the company of General, Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff , the various formations participating in this parade against a backdrop of military music and the sound of seventy (70) cannon shots.
After listening to the national anthem, the President of the Republic delivered a speech in which he addressed his wishes to the Algerian people on this glorious occasion that he celebrates in the shadow of New Algeria, he also praised the great efforts of the personnel of People's National Army, who watch over the integrity and security and stability of our country:
"On this solemn national occasion, imbued with all the marks of glory, dignity and pride, it should be recalled that Algeria, victorious yesterday against colonialism, confidently continues its path of victories thanks to the efforts of its children faithful to the commitment of the valiant Chouhada.
On this 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Liberation Revolution, I extend my greetings to the People's National Army and all the security forces stationed at the borders, ensuring the defense of our blessed land, ensuring the protection of our airspace and our maritime coasts, and ready to make all sacrifices to preserve the legacy of the valiant Chouhada and defend the Republic and its achievements. "
The President of the Republic reiterated his commitment to ensuring that this military parade is worthy of the dimensions and symbolism of this event, and that the doctrine of People's National Army is defensive, and that its armament is exclusively intended for the protection of Algeria:
"On this memorable day, we have ensured with the greatest care that this military parade reflects the dimensions and symbolism of this 70th anniversary, and is worthy of the sacrifices of those who shaped it, out of loyalty to those who preserved this legacy. We have also ensured that it reflects the sacred bond of cohesion between the people and their sons and daughters within the People's National Army, who come from this people and who carry out their missions with a high sense of patriotism, unwavering commitment and authentic nationalism. It is essential to emphasize that the doctrine of People's National Army is defensive and that its armament is intended exclusively to defend Algeria and protect its national sovereignty, in addition to its contribution to establishing international security and peace, in accordance with Algeria's international and regional commitments, in compliance with international law and within the framework of our constitutional principles and rules. "
At the end of his speech, Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence announced the official launch of this military parade, beginning with the squares of the band and the Cavalry, belonging to the Republican Guard, followed by the squares of the Mujahideen, the Cadets of the Nation, the Force commands, Military Schools, the General Directorate of National Security, the General Directorate of Civil Protection and the General Directorate of Customs.
Before giving way to the combat vehicle formation squares, at their head, the different types of Tanks, the vehicles of the mechanized and motorized Infantry, the artillery, the various types of rocket launchers, various artillery systems against aircraft and advanced air defense missile systems, the various radar systems, light armored vehicles, reconnaissance and assault vehicles. The formations of the various Combat Engineering vehicles dedicated to opening roads and laying bridges and various multifaceted support vehicles, including technical and medical, then took over, ahead of the formation of motorcycles under the National Gendarmerie.
In addition, the air formations embellished the sky of the Bay of Algiers through aerial figures performed by aircraft belonging to the Air Force including tactical transport, reconnaissance and fighter and bomber aircraft alongside combat, reconnaissance, transport and search and rescue helicopter formations alongside which participated helicopters from the National Gendarmerie, the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Civil Protection.
Parachute jump exhibitions performed by the national military parachute jumping teams, men and women, also marked this military parade, before the entry of the formations of the Naval Forces made up of various warships and multipurpose vessels such as submarines, Command and Deployment of Forces, support and support boats, Frigates, Corvettes, Minesweepers, training ships and search and rescue vessels.
The parade ended with entertaining artistic performances performed by the Bagpipe Troupe of the Republican Guard.
