Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, supervises the ceremony of the 52nd edition of the final of the Algerian Military Football Cup.
Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, supervised this Thursday, 14th November 2024, the ceremony of the final of the Algerian Military Football Cup, in its 52nd edition, at the Center for the Regrouping and Preparation of Military Sports Teams in Ben Aknoun in the 1st Military Region, where he was welcomed by General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff and Prime Minister Nadir LARBAOUI.
After the welcoming ceremony, the President of the Republic listened to the national anthem and received the honors rendered by the various formations of the Forces of People's National Army, to then salute the welcoming delegation, namely the General, Commander of the Republican Guard, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, the Commanders of Forces and the National Gendarmerie, the Commander of the 1st Military Region, the Chief of the Employment-Preparation Department of the General Staff of People's National Army and the Chief of the Military Sports Service. In the VIP lounge of the Military Sports Complex and in the presence of members of the Government, Advisors to the Presidency of the Republic, as well as Chiefs of Departments, the Comptroller General of the Army, Directors and Chiefs of Services of the Ministry of National Defence and of People's National Army Staff, Mr. President followed a comprehensive presentation on military sports, presented by the General, Chief of the Military Sports Service of the Employment-Preparation Department of People's National Army Staff. Then, those present watched a documentary film, produced by the Directorate of Information and Communication, on military sports infrastructures, such as the Center for the Regrouping and Preparation of Military Sports Teams, on the brilliant results obtained by military athletes who distinguished themselves during this sports season, Algeria's preparations to soon host international sporting events and the participation of the national military team in the African military games in Abuja, Nigeria.
At the end, the President of the Republic joined the official stand of the Stade of the Centre, where he gave the kick-off for the final which brought together the teams of the 1st Military Region and the 4th Military Region.
The first half was marked by the clear domination of the 1st RM team, which opened the score in the 15th minute thanks to a precise header from Abdelhamid Bourouina following a well-executed corner. The score remained unchanged until the whistle of the first period.
In the second half, the 4th RM players intensified their attacks to try to get back into the game, and in the 70th minute, a well-executed counterattack allowed them to equalize through Anis Olmi. In the 81st minute, a penalty was awarded to the 1st RM team, Imad Benaissa was responsible for converting it, giving his team the victory. The 1st RM team thus won the Algerian Military Football Cup.
At the end of the match, the President of the Republic presented medals to the players of both teams as well as the Algerian Military Cup to the 1st RM team, before signing the guestbook of the Center for the Regrouping and Preparation of Military Sports Teams in Ben Aknoun in the 1st Military Region.
