Second day of the visit of General Said CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

      On the second day of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and at the invitation of his Mauritanian counterpart, General Said CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, went, this Wednesday, 16TH October 2024, to the headquarters of the General Staff of the Mauritanian Armies, where he was welcomed by Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane.

  

      At the end of the welcoming ceremony and the honours presented to him by a military formation of different Forces, the General, Chief of People's National Army Staff, met with Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane, Chief of the Mauritanian Armies Staff, where the two parties exchanged analyses and points of view on issues of common interest, and discussed the various security challenges facing the region and the world.

  

      At the headquarters of the Army Conference Center, the talks, which were extended to delegations from both countries, were dedicated to assessing multifaceted bilateral military cooperation, and the means to further promote it so that it can live up to the solid relations between the armies of the two countries.

  

      During this meeting, the General, Chief of People's National Army Staff, delivered a speech in which he thanked his Mauritanian counterpart for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him since his arrival in the brother country of Mauritania, while expressing his conviction in the ability of the two countries to strengthen the bonds of fraternity and friendship between the two countries and the two peoples.

      The General , Chief of People's National Army Staff, recalled the need to strengthen joint action between the two parties in a spirit of permanent cooperation and coordination, in the shadow of a particular regional and international geostrategic situation that has generated new security challenges.

      For his part, Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane, Chief of the Mauritanian Armed Forces Staff, welcomed, in the speech he delivered on this occasion, the solidity of bilateral military cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, which will be further strengthened thanks to this visit, before thanking Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane, Chief of PNA Staff for honouring his invitation.

      Subsequently, the General , Chief of People's National Army Staff was received by Mr. Hanana Ould Sidi, Minister of Defence of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

  

      The audience, which took place in the presence of highest military official from both parties, was devoted to assessing the state of bilateral military cooperation between Algeria and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, two countries that share privileged fraternal relations, which have been confirmed through decisive chapters in the common history of the two brotherly countries.

      During this meeting, the General, Chief of PNA Staff delivered a speech in which he highlighted the strength of bilateral relations, based on good neighbourliness and mutual respect between the two countries and the two peoples.

      For his part, the Mauritanian Minister of Defence, Mr. Hanana Ould Sidi, expressed his satisfaction at receiving the General, Chief PNA Staff, emphasizing the high level of coordination and understanding that characterizes the relations between the two countries in more than one respect, and which could be further strengthened by the expansion of the areas of cooperation in the near future.

      At the end of the meeting, and on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El GHAZOUANI, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Mauritanian Minister of Defence decorated his host, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, with the National Merit Medal, in recognition of the deep esteem he has for him and his illustrious career, reaffirming the mutual trust between the two military commands. The two parties then exchanged symbolic gifts.
