Operational Report from 9th to 15th October 2024
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, during the period from 9th to 15th October 2024, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism and borders security, detachments of People's National Army arrested (9) elements supporting terrorist groups in different operations.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (46) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (5) quintals of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (32,804) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam and Djanet, PNA detachments arrested (117) individuals and seized (33) vehicles, (102) generators, (63) jackhammers, (5) metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold operations. Similarly, (20) other individuals were arrested and (8) hunting rifles, (3) automatic pistols, (70,038) liters of fuel, as well as (105) quintals of tobacco and (41.07) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized,during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard foiled, on our national coasts, illegal attempts emigration and proceeded to the rescue of (165) individuals on board homemade built boats, while (652) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
