Operational report of the PNA from 28th August to 3rd September, 2024
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 28th August to 3rd September, 2024, several operations which resulted in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, and during a search operation, a combined detachment of People's National Army recovered in Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, one (01) semi-automatic rifle type Simonov and one (01) ammunition magazine.
While other detachments of People's National Army arrested (05) elements supporting terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory.
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuity with sustained efforts to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (41) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to introduce (03) quintals and (04) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (181,296) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam and Illizi, PNA detachments arrested (329) individuals and seized (14) vehicles, (400) generators, (283) jackhammers, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Similarly, (20) other individuals were arrested and (09) hunting rifles, five (05) automatic pistols, one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov as well as (42,568) liters of fuel were seized, during separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard on the national coasts, foiled illegal immigration attempts of (272) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (392) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
