Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, presides over the ceremony of PNA National Day celebration

      Within the framework of the 4th anniversary celebration of PNA National Day, which falls on 4th August of each year, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, presided over a ceremony today, Monday, 4th August 2025, at the Army’s National Circle in Beni-Messous, honouring PNA retirees from the NLA, families of the national duty martyrs, as well as the great disabled and wounded in the fight against terrorism, under the jurisdiction of PNA.

      Upon his arrival, the President of the Republic was welcomed by General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Delegated Minister to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of PNA, where a military formation greeted him with honours.

  

      The ceremony was attended by the President of the Nation’s Council, the President of People's National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, advisors to the President of the Republic, members of the government, the Lieutenant General Commander of the Land Forces, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commanders of Forces, of the National Gendarmerie in interim and of the Republican Guard, the Chiefs of Departments, the Directors and Chiefs of Central Services of the Ministry of National Defence and of PNA General Staff, senior government officials, national figures, and mujahideen.

  

  

  

  

      On this occasion, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Delegated Minister to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of PNA, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, expressing his thanks to him for having agreed to preside over this ceremony:

  

      "It is a pleasure for me, on this happy occasion, to express to you, Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, the most sincere thanks and gratitude for having given us, today, the honour of presiding over this ceremony celebrating PNA National Day, which you established as a token of recognition and consideration for the great actions of the valiant children of Algeria, officers and personnel of our valiant army, sons and grandsons of the martyrs and mujahideen of NLA.

      I would also like to welcome our guests, each in his own name, thanking them for having kindly accepted the invitation to this ceremony, organized in honour of the heroes of independent Algeria, who contributed, with all their strength, to the phase of construction and edification and who faced, with vigour and bravery, alongside the faithful children of the homeland, the sinister design of the country destruction, and who fought against barbaric terrorism and succeeded in protecting the State people and the institutions, and in preserving the republican and the democratic character of the Algerian State”.


      The General emphasized that People's National Army has always been at the heart of the events experienced by our country, and was present alongside the nation's children during the various decisive phases, and will always remain the faithful servant of the homeland.

  

      "Since its reconversion on 4th August 1962, People's National Army has always been at the heart of the events experienced by our country. It was present alongside the nation's children during the various decisive phases, and was the bulwark against all the attempts to undermine national unity, the integrity of our land, and our borders. It thwarted all the macabre plans targeting Algerian state, its foundations, and its symbols.

      This People's National Army, whose members are imbued with the values of absolute fidelity and loyalty to the State and its institutions, will always remain the faithful servant of the homeland and its children will write, through their sacrifices, the letters of victory, inspired by their predecessors epics".


      Subsequently, the President of the Republic honoured PNA retired members from NLA, families of national duty martyrs, as well as the great disabled and wounded in the fight against terrorism under PNA, by presenting honorary and recognition certificates, before taking a souvenir photo with the honoured guests.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  


      It is important to note that on this occasion, ceremonies were presided over by the Commanders of the Military Regions, in honour of PNA retired members from the NLA, families of martyrs of national duty, as well as great disabled and wounded in the fight against terrorism, under PNA, where honorary and recognition certificates were presented to them, on behalf of the President of the Republic.
