Operational Report of PNA from 13th to the 19th August 2025
Within the framework of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 13th to 19th August 2025, several operations leading to high-quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance, and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of People's National Army units, the terrorist named Okba Kounta Sid Ahmed, alias "Mohamed," surrendered to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, in possession of one Kalashnikov submachine gun, one Semenov semi-automatic rifle, a quantity of ammunition, and other items, while other detachments of People's National Army arrested (3) elements supporting terrorist groups in different operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and continuing efforts to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, intercepted (31) drug traffickers and thwarted smuggle attempts of one (1) quintal and (66) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (2.23) kilograms of cocaine and (131,318) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and Illizi, detachments of People's National Army arrested (270) individuals and seized (23) vehicles, (158) generators, (63) jackhammers, (4) metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stones mixture and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. Similarly, (11) other individuals were apprehended and (7) hunting rifles, (17,035) litres of fuel, as well as (6) quintals of tobacco were seized, during separate operations.
Furthermore, the Coast Guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts and rescued (513) individuals on board artisanal construction boats, while (507) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
