Operational Report of PNA from 20th to the 26th August 2025
Within the dynamic of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multi-form organized crime units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 20th to 26th August 2025, several operations that led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, the vigilance and the permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, the detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (3) elements of support for terrorist groups in different operations throughout the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the efforts made to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (44) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (3) quintals and (3) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (889,505) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, Iliizi, and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army arrested 404 individuals and seized 32 vehicles, 219 generators, 189 jackhammers, two metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixtures and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. Similarly, 13 other individuals were apprehended, and one automatic pistol, 05 hunting rifles, 25,040 litres of fuel, as well as 10 quintals of tobacco, and 3.34 tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during separate operations.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts and rescued (58) individuals on board homemade boats, while (590) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
