As part of his field visits to all military regions, General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army Staff, is conducting a working and inspection visit to the 4th Military Region, starting today, Monday, April 28th , 2025.

The visit began at the regional command headquarters in Ouargla, where, after the welcoming ceremony hosted by Major General Omar Tlemçani, Commander of the 4th Military Region, the General observed a moment of silence in memory of Shahid Bashir Chihani, whose headquarters bears his name. He laid a wreath at his memorial stele before reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.

During his meeting with the Region's executives, the General delivered a keynote address, followed by videoconference by all personnel of the 4th Military Region, in which he emphasized the need to combat the use of false and destructive propaganda and to strengthen the sense of security among individuals and groups:

"On this occasion, it is important to emphasize the need to combat the use of false and destructive propaganda, particularly in light of the extraordinary developments in information technology, social media, and digital platforms, where disinformation is used as a lethal weapon to achieve dubious political objectives.

Based on this principle, it is of the utmost importance to strengthen the sense of security among individuals and groups, and to establish a strong national information culture, which encourages them to verify information before accepting it as true or sharing it, by referring to reliable sources, and not to trust sensational headlines and other misleading content."

The General added that it is the duty of every Algerian devoted to their country to fight against biased campaigns aimed at damaging its image.

"Developing critical thinking helps protect our society from falling into the trap of propaganda, which tends to influence national public opinion, create an atmosphere of doubt and mistrust between state institutions and citizens, and manipulate the latter according to hidden agendas.

It is therefore the duty of every Algerian devoted to their country to combat biased campaigns aimed at damaging Algeria's image, by demonstrating high awareness, vigilance, and patriotic commitment, but also by working to thwart devious plans aimed at the security and stability of our country, as well as its territorial and popular unity."

At the end of this meeting, the General listened to the contributions and concerns of the personnel of the 4th Military Region, who expressed their willingness to continue their efforts to best accomplish their assigned missions, particularly in terms of border security and protecting the national territory against all scourges and potential threats.

Following the visit, the General inaugurated a regional center, where he received comprehensive explanations from the officials responsible for implementing this project. He also inquired closely about the quality of the infrastructure built there, ensuring optimal comfort for the beneficiaries.

On this occasion, the General congratulated the officials for their efforts to deliver the new infrastructure on time, and urged them to ensure its maintenance through professionalism and rigorous management, in order to ensure quality service delivery.

General Said Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army Staff, also oversaw the inauguration and naming of the new headquarters of the Southeast Operational Sector of Djanet, where he attended a detailed presentation by the Sector Commander.
