General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of PNA Staff receives the chief of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission of People's Republic of China
General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army received in audience, this Saturday, 15th February 2025, at the headquarters of General Staff of the National People's Army, the chief of Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission of People's Republic of China, General XU XUE QIANG.
The welcoming ceremony began with the salute of the national flag, followed by military honors paid to General XU XUE QIANG by formations of the various Forces of People’s National Army.
During this audience, which was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Force Commanders, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Commander of the Republican Guard by interim, Major Generals and Brigadier Generals of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff of People's National Army, alongside members of the Chinese delegation, the two parties discussed the state of cooperation between the two countries and exchanged analyses and points of view on issues of common interest. On this occasion, the General delivered a speech, at the beginning of which he welcomed the chief of Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission of People's Republic of China and the accompanying delegation, before recalling the level of historical relations that bind the two brotherly peoples and the willingness of both parties to strengthen military cooperation between the armies of the two countries:
"I am pleased to welcome you and the accompanying delegation to the headquarters of General Staff of People's National Army, on the occasion of your visit to Algeria, which constitutes a new opportunity to deepen the distinguished cooperation between our respective armies.
I also take advantage of this meeting to recall the historic nature of the relations between our two countries, since China was the first non-Arab country to recognize the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic.
Based on these highlights, Algerian-Chinese relations are now experiencing notable progress and growing growth in various fields, particularly military, following the implementation of the various mechanisms created to deepen cooperation, in accordance with the will of the high authorities of our two countries to raise these relations to the level of excellence."
The General reiterated his belief in the possibility of raising military cooperation to the expected level in the service of the common interests of both parties:
"Finally, I would not fail to welcome you again to Algeria, being fully convinced that bilateral military cooperation will reach, following this visit, a new remarkable stage on the path to consolidating our military relations to give them the expected scope in the service of our common interests and in accordance with the sincere will of the leaders of the two countries."
For his part, General XU XUE QIANG expressed his joy at visiting Algeria, praising the level of coordination and understanding with the Algerian side regarding the issues discussed during this audience.
At the end of this meeting, the chief of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission of People's Republic of China signed the guestbook of the General Staff of People's National Army.
