Operational Report of PNA from 29th January to the 4th February 2025
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 29th January to 4th February, 2025, several operations that led to in quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
As part of the fight against terrorism and during two quality operations carried out in Tamanrasset and Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, detachments of People’s National Army recovered (4) submachine guns’ type Kalashnikov, one (1) automatic pistol, one (1) sniper rifle, (2) submachine guns, one (1) rocket launcher, a quantity of ammunition and other effects. Also, other detachments of People’s National Army arrested (7) elements supporting terrorist groups in different operations across the national territory.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (75) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (14) quintals and (35) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (2.3) kilograms of cocaine and (1,029,180) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Djanet, In Salah, Tindouf and Illizi, detachments of People's National Army arrested (344) individuals and seized (22) vehicles, (258) generators, (155) jackhammers, (5) metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Similarly, (9) other individuals were arrested and one (1) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, one (1) submachine gun, one (1) automatic pistol, (28,838) liters of fuel, as well as (22) quintals of tobacco and (8) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during various operations.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts and rescued (7) individuals on board home-built boats, while (314) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
