Operational Report of PNA from 19th to 25th February 2025
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 19th to 25th February 2025, several operations that led to quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
As part of the fight against terrorism and following a search and combing operation in Médéa, a detachment of People's National Army shot dead on 20th February, 2025 the terrorist named Sawan Boulam, alias (Hilal) and recovered (1) submachine gun type Kalashnikov and other effects.
In the same context, the terrorist named "Mohamed Benyahia" alias "Abdel Rafie", surrendered to the military authorities of Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, in his possession one (1) Kalashnikov-type submachine gun, a quantity of ammunition and other effects, while detachments of People's National Army arrested (7) elements supporting terrorist groups in different operations.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (60) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (4) quintals and (49) kilograms of processed kif from the borders with Morocco, while (4.56) kilograms of cocaine and (776,374) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and In Guezzam, detachments of People's National Army arrested (386) individuals and seized (30) vehicles, (203) generators, (119) jackhammers as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Similarly, (29) other individuals were arrested and (2) Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, (1) automatic pistol, (10) hunting rifles, (42,342) liters of fuel, as well as (57) quintals of tobacco and (49) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during various operations.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard foiled illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts and rescued (100) individuals on board home-built boats, while (163) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
