Operational Report of PNA from 15th to the 21st January 2025
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from January 15th to 21st , 2025, several operations that led to quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the units of People's National Army, the terrorists respectively called "Mellouki Hosni" known as "Hamza" and "Mellouki Ahmed" known as "Yahia", surrendered to the military authorities of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in their possession (2) Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a quantity of ammunition and other effects, while detachments of People's National Army arrested (15) elements supporting terrorist groups in different operations across the national territory.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (76) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (109) kilograms of traded kif from the borders with Morocco, while (387,113) psychotropic tablets and (1.62) kilograms of cocaine were seized, during separate operations.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Illizi and In Guezzam, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (256) individuals and seized (32) vehicles, (364) generators, (205) jackhammers, (7) metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Similarly, (29) other individuals were arrested and (20) hunting rifles, one (1) automatic pistol, (9220) liters of fuel, as well as (8) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized, during various operations.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard foiled, at the level of our national coasts, attempts at illegal emigration and proceeded to the rescue of (127) individuals on board home-built boats, while (455) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
