Operational Report of PNA from 07th to the 14th January 2025
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 8th to 14th January, 2025, several operations that resulted in quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the units of the People's National Army, the terrorist named "Ouled El-Cheikh" known as "Abdelouahed" surrendered to the military authorities of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in his possession one (1) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, a quantity of ammunition and other effects, while other detachments of PNA arrested (13) elements supporting terrorist groups in different operations.
In the same context, a detachment of PNA discovered, during a reconnaissance patrol at the level of the Operational Sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, a cache containing a considerable quantity of rockets and ammunition of different calibers as well as machine gun barrels and other objects, while another cache was discovered, in Ouled Djellal, containing explosives and detonation tools.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (57) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (6) quintals and (95) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (4.34) kilograms of cocaine and (98,634) psychotropic tablets were seized during other separate operations.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Djanet and In Salah, detachments of People's National Army arrested (286) individuals and seized (54) vehicles, (211) generators, (125) jackhammers, (2) metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Similarly, (20) other individuals were arrested and (7) hunting rifles, one (1) automatic pistol, (6740) liters of fuel, as well as (8) quintals of tobacco and (63) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized, during different operations.
On the other hand, (176) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
