General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army Staff, supervised the graduation ceremony of the Advanced War Studies Course on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Advanced War Studies Course.
At the outset, and following the welcoming ceremony given by Major General Ali Sidane, Commander of the 1st Military Region, and Major General Hamid Fekane, Director of the School, the General observed a moment of silence in memory of the late President Ali Kafi, whose school headquarters is named after him. He then laid a wreath at the memorial stele of the deceased and recited the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.
The General then delivered an orientation address to the officers and trainee officers, in which he highlighted the major milestones achieved by the PNA in the field of advanced military training.
"First of all, I am pleased to express my delight at being at the "Late President Ali Kafi" Higher War College, to oversee the graduation ceremony, which this year bears the name of Shahid Ali Mellah. This is based on our commitment to the training sector in general and to this higher education college in particular.
We have high hopes for this prestigious college, which represents the pinnacle of the military training system, in terms of supporting the development and modernization of the components of our army, which has achieved significant milestones in recent years through the training of highly qualified personnel capable of fully assuming the major constitutional missions assigned to the PNA, a worthy successor to the NLA".
The General highlighted the PNA's tireless efforts to improve the capabilities of the War College, enabling it to fully fulfill its training and research role, and contributing to the development of leaders aware of the challenges that must be addressed to ensure the country's security resilience.
"To achieve this objective, which is urgent, ambitious, and equally legitimate, the War College must continue its tireless efforts to develop, year after year, its training and research processes, capable of fostering the emergence of a high-quality, highly trained military elite.
An elite distinguished by dynamic interaction with its scientific and research environment, developing broad knowledge and an insightful and authentic vision, enabling it to grasp the constraints and challenges ahead in the medium and long term, and to make a judicious reading of events, their ins and outs, their contexts and dimensions, as well as their objectives and goals, which will allow us to always remain close to our popular depth, guarantor of Algeria's security.
It is this strategic vision that we wish to maintain within the PNA, and it is through it that we aim to produce operational and forward-looking concepts that allow our army to anticipate challenges, within the framework of its defensive doctrine, and in such a way as to increase our multidimensional security resilience".
In turn, Major General, Director of the School, urged the graduating officers to demonstrate a high sense of patriotism and defense of the homeland:
"You must continue to draw on knowledge, because your success in this program is only one step on an even longer road ahead of you. You have acquired the knowledge that allows you to be in step with the new generations of future military leaders within the National People's Army, a worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, and to distinguish yourself by the qualities of a virtuous and skillful commander, an example to follow, endowed with foresight, insight, firmness in decision-making and rigor in its execution, deeply aware of the magnitude of his responsibilities, with a spirit of determination, perseverance and constancy in the fulfillment of his duties, driven by a high sense of patriotism, placing the defense of the party before all other considerations and demonstrating loyalty to all those who fell as martyrs for it".
Afterwards, the General watched a documentary film reviewing the School's activities for the 2024-2025 academic year, followed by the announcement of results, the awarding of diplomas, and the naming of the graduating promotion. The General then listened to a speech delivered by the representative of the graduating promotion.
