General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army Staff, on a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region
As part of the follow-up to the second phase of combat preparation programs for the year 2024-2025, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army Staff, begins a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran, starting today, Monday, 26th May, 2025.
At the outset, and after the welcoming ceremony given by Major General Mohamed Tayeb BRAKNI, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the General observed a moment of silence in memory of Chahid "Ahmed BOUDJENANE", known as "Si Abbès", whose headquarters is named after him. The General then laid a wreath before the Chahid's memorial stele and recited the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.
Subsequently, the General held a meeting with the officers and personnel of the 2nd Military Region, during which he delivered a speech, broadcast via videoconference to all units in the Region, in which he affirmed that among the harvests and fruits of success that People's National Army has inherited from its valiant ancestors in the National Liberation Army, is its constant aspiration to live up to the demands of its national duty and its noble constitutional missions:
"Among the harvests and fruits of success that People's National Army has inherited from its valiant ancestors in the National Liberation Army, is its constant aspiration to live up to the demands of its national duty and its noble constitutional missions, which essentially consist of defending the homeland, ensuring national unity, preserving its wealth, and safeguarding its national sovereignty and freedom of decision.
To achieve this, it relies on the availability of its defense system, which we have carefully constructed with a thoughtful balance between, on the one hand, the acquisition of combat skills, operational experience, and a high level of professionalism, and on the other, the imbuing of hearts and minds with the values of belonging to the Nation, loyalty to the Chouhada, and respect for the duty of sacrifice to raise high the eternal banner of Algeria and defend its republican order".
The General also emphasized his deep conviction that Algeria will remain strong as long as it remains committed to preserving the Chouhada, and that its enemies, like their predecessors throughout history, will continue to taste the bitterness of defeat:
"We are deeply convinced that as long as Algeria remains faithful to the Chouhada, and as long as sincere patriots, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, continue with firmness and determination their resolute march on the path of comprehensive national renaissance, Algeria will continue to progress economically and rise strategically, while its enemies, like their predecessors throughout history, will drag the tatters of their failure, taste the bitterness of defeat, and suffer the repercussions of their vile plots."
Following this meeting, the personnel of the 2nd Military Region shared their concerns and interests, before expressing their full willingness to assume the noble missions assigned to them in the service of Algeria.
Then, the General, accompanied by the Commander of the 2nd Military Region and the Director of Military Justice, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Oran Military Court of Appeal, where he received detailed explanations on the facilities of this project, which aims to consolidate rights and freedoms and facilitate appeal procedures at second instance.
