Second day of the visit of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's Army National Staff to the 2nd Military Region
On the second day of his visit to the 2nd Military Region, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People's National Army Staff, oversaw, on Tuesday, 27th May, 2025, a tactical exercise with live ammunition, "Soumoud 2025", carried out by units of the 36th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, supported by units from various forces and branches, as part of the closing of combat preparation programs for the year 2024-2025.
At the Regional Firing and Maneuver Range, accompanied by Major General Mohamed Tayeb BRAKNI, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the General received a presentation from the Commander of the 36th Mechanized Infantry Brigade on the general idea and execution stages of this exercise, which aims to strengthen combat capabilities and coordination between the various headquarters. It also aims to train commands and headquarters in the preparation, planning, and conduct of operations in the face of potential threats.
Subsequently, the General closely monitored the combat actions conducted by the units involved. These actions were distinguished by a high level of professionalism throughout all stages of execution, with remarkable tactical and operational prowess, demonstrating the high combat capabilities of the crews and commanders at all levels. They also highlighted the perfect exploitation of the terrain and exemplary coordination between the various participating units, as well as the high level of competence of the officers in the development and conduct of the various operations. The exercise particularly demonstrated the skill and mastery of the personnel in the use of the weapons systems and equipment provided, which enabled the achievement of highly satisfactory results, evidenced by the precision of the firings carried out with various weapons.
At the end of the exercise, the General met with the personnel of the units that participated in this tactical exercise, which resulted in complete success at all levels, particularly in terms of planning, preparation, and execution, reflecting the high level of preparedness of the officers and personnel and the high level of skill and expertise of the commanders and staff. The General congratulated the officers of the participating units for their considerable efforts throughout the 2024/2025 combat readiness year, emphasizing the need to continue efforts to promote and develop all components of People's National Army, in order to elevate it to greater success, in the service of Algeria's security and stability.
