As part of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out several operations between May 7th and 13th, 2025, resulting in high-quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance, and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of units of People’s National Army, the terrorist named Benmokhtari Moussa, alias "Abou Yacin," surrendered to the military authorities of Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, in possession of four weapons, a quantity of ammunition, and other belongings. Other units of People’s National Army arrested nine elements supporting terrorist groups in various operations across the country.
As part of the fight against organized crime and continuing ongoing efforts to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of people’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, intercepted (50) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to smuggle two (2) quintals and (80) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (1.86) kilograms of cocaine and (214,830) psychotropic tablets were seized during operations carried out across the Military Regions.


In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam, and Djanet, detachments of People’s National Army arrested 270 individuals and seized 33 vehicles, 250 generators, 124 jackhammers, three metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixtures, explosives, detonation tools, and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Similarly, 14 other individuals were arrested, and one automatic pistol, 11 hunting rifles, 77,760 liters of fuel, as well as 60 quintals of tobacco, and 17.2 tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during various operations.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted illegal immigration attempts on the country's coasts and rescued 203 individuals aboard homemade boats, while 1,049 illegal immigrants of various nationalities were arrested across the country.
