Operational Report of PNA from 19th to 26th March, 2025
As part of the ongoing efforts in the fight against terrorism and multifaceted organised crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out several operations between 19 and 26 March 2025, yielding significant results that reflect the high level of professionalism, vigilance, and constant readiness of our Armed Forces across the entire national territory.
In the fight against terrorism and border security, detachments of the People's National Army neutralised two (2) terrorists on 21 March 2025 in In Guezzam, located in the 6th Military Region. They also recovered one (1) sniper rifle, a large quantity of ammunition, and various other items.
In the same context, five (5) terrorists surrendered to the military authorities, handing over four (5) Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a quantity of ammunition, and other equipment. These included terrorists Berbouchi El-Dhahbi and Mehri Abdellah, who surrendered to the military authorities in Adrar, within the 3rd Military Region, as well as terrorists Okbaoui Mohamed, alias "Abou Fadila," Berbouchi Mohamed, alias "Kerkeb," and El Hammal Ali, alias "Abou Zaïd," who surrendered to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, within the 6th Military Region. Additionally, detachments of the People's National Army arrested five (5) individuals providing support to terrorist groups in various operations.
As part of the fight against organised crime and ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the People's National Army, in coordination with various security services, intercepted thirty-four (34) drug traffickers in operations carried out across different Military Regions. They also thwarted attempts to smuggle in eight (8) quintals and seventy (70) kilograms of processed cannabis from the Moroccan border. Furthermore, 1.42 kilograms of cocaine and 158,425 psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and In Guezzam, detachments of the People's National Army arrested 185 individuals and seized 38 vehicles, 85 generators, 43 jackhammers, 7 metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold ore and stones, explosives, detonation tools, and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations.
Similarly, 22 other individuals were arrested, and authorities seized 1 automatic pistol, 4 hunting rifles, 64,968 liters of fuel, and 45 quintals of tobacco during various operations.
Moreover, 401 illegal immigrants of different nationalities were apprehended across the national territory.
