th) anniversary of National Day of Emigration and in implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, stipulating that a minute of silence has to be observed every year in memory of the martyrs of 17
th October 1961 demonstrations, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of National Defence, at People's National Army General Staff headquarters, observed a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs souls who fell victim to the brutal repression of the peaceful demonstrations carried out by Algerians in France.
