Fifth day of the official visit of General CHANEGRIHA Said, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, to the Republic of Korea
On the fifth and final day of his visit to the Republic of Korea, General CHANEGRIHA Said, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, was received this Thursday, 23rd October 2025, by Mr. Ahn Gyu-back, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Korea.
This meeting, attended by senior Korean military officials and members of the Algerian military delegation, was devoted to assessing the bilateral military cooperation state between Algeria and the Republic of Korea, as well as development prospects to raise it to the level of the strategic partnership uniting the two friendly countries.
During this meeting, the General delivered a speech in which he conveyed to his host the greetings of the President of the Republic, expressing the hope that this visit would constitute a new building block in the strengthening of cooperative relations in the interests of both countries:
"I would like, first of all, to express my sincere thanks and deep gratitude for your kind invitation to participate in the International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition "ADEX-2025," hoping that this visit will constitute a new building block in the edifice of cooperative relations in the service of our two countries and in fulfilling the aspirations of our two military institutions.
I also seize this opportunity to convey to you the greetings of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, who attaches particular importance to strengthening relations with the Republic of Korea”.
The General expressed his wish to raise bilateral military cooperation between the armies of the two countries to the highest levels, welcoming the desire of the leaders of the two countries to give this cooperation the place it deserves:
"Indeed, Algerian-Korean relations have gradually evolved since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two parties, and have experienced renewed momentum in recent years, materialized by high-level visits between officials of the two countries, as well as the signing of several agreements in various fields ".
For his part, Mr. Ahn Gyu-back, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Korea, expressed his country's willingness to develop bilateral cooperation with our country, particularly in the field of defence, expressing the hope that the Algerian delegation would benefit from the exhibition's activities and discover the advanced technological and technical capabilities of Korean companies in this field.
At the end, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before the General signed the Ministry of Defence’s guestbook and took a souvenir photo on this occasion.
