As a part of the activities of the Inter-ministerial Committee on Search and Rescue, Major General Abdelaziz HAOUAM, Commander of the Territory Air Defence Forces, chaired on 05 December 2024, as the President of the Commission, the Twenty-fourth (24th) session of the Ministerial committee of Search and Rescue of aircraft in distress, in presence of representatives from all ministries involved .
The Territory Air Defence Forces Commander highlighted in his speech given at this occasion, the importance given by the High Command of the People's National Army to the SAR by mobilizing all the necessary means to undertake the tasks incumbent upon it. He also emphasises the necessity to use all means to maintain a high level of reediness, including search and rescue system, to insure it can act under any circumstances and according to international law.
During this meeting the assessment of the results achieved in this field as well as the necessity to achieve the best level of coordination and cooperation between the ministerial departments concerned by the air search and rescue.
This session was also an opportunity for all the participants to share and exchange experience and expertise , it also enables them to know the provisions led down in the intervention plan in use and estimate the effective ways used in Search and Rescue in order to ensure a quick and effective response to such hazards and enhance Algerian SAR capabilities.
