The Territory Air Defence Forces Schools -Chahid Ali CHABATI-
Introduction:

The Territory Air Defence being a technical arm per excellence,it requires a highly qualified personnel ready to answer to the tactico-operational requirements demanded by the specificity of the arm. Thus, the staff training is a top priority for the Territory Air Defence Forces Command which must constantly improve the methods of training to adapt to the technological development of equipements and techniques of modern combat and to grant a particular interest to the selection and the orientation of the most suited elements.

The Territory Air Defence Forces has three establishments of training: the Territory Air Defence Higher School "Chahid CHABATI Ali" of Réghaïa "T.A.D.H.S", the Territory Air Defence Staff School "Chahid Ahmed FERRACH" of Berrouaghia "T.A.D.S.S", the Training Center "Chahid DJEFFAL Abdelouahab" of Sétif "the T.C. El-Hassi", theses establishments offers to the young people, eager to embrace a military career, military and technical trainings specialized as well to officers, Non-commissioned officers and to men of troops.

1. Presentation and missions:

The Territory Air Defence Higher School is an institution of superior education, which gives to students a training in various specialities. The school offers a technical and scientific training course as well as a specialized training about the Arm. It also ensures a basic military training to officers. The available specialities at school are adaptable to the scientific and technical development allowing the students to make their choice according their aptitude.



The trainee officers of career receive a general military training and a special scientific and technical training course about the arm allowing them to acquire a behaviour of a leader, ready to fulfil the missions such as:
  • To make respect in any time national sovereignty by ensuring the police of the sky;
  • To detect and evaluate any air threat directed on the national territory;
  • To assist the missions of search and rescue for aircraft or crew in difficulties;
  • To participate in coordination with the concerned national organizations in regulation and organization of the general air traffic.

It offers, annually, teaching places to the profit of the foreign military institutions within the framework of the international cooperation.

2. Geographical site:

The Territory Air Defence Higher School is located at 07 km of Réghaïa city and to 35 km eastern Algiers. Its proximity with the universities, the institutes and the training centers as well as the industrial complex of Rouïba enables the school to have a distinguished characteristic. The school extends on a surface of 70 hectares mostly are green spaces , its proximity of the sea, offers a favourable climate for a good schooling of students.

3. Historical glimpse on the Territory Air Defence Higher School (T.A.D.H.S):

The Territory Air Defence Higher School (T.A.D.S.S) is the result of many years of developing the training within the Territory Air Defence Forces.
  • The Training Center of Réghaïa, was created in 1965 directly attached to the Military Aviation Direction;
  • In 1981, the Territory Air Defence Direction was created ;
  • In 1982, the Territory Air Defence Higher School was created and placed under the command of the Territory Air Defence Direction of (Réghaïa);
  • In 1986, the Territory Air Defence Superior School was attached to the Air Forces Command. So, the training of the contractual (NCO) students and Contractual Corporals were transferred to the Territory Air Defence Application School of Bérrouaghia (T.A.D.A.S);
  • In 1987, the non-aircrew and the Air Navigation Technicians of the Air Superior School of Tafraoui/ 2nd Military Region were transferred at the Territory Air Defence Superior School/ 1st Military Region;
  • In 1988, the Territory Air Defence Forces Command was created, the Territory Air Defence Higher School was attached to it;
  • In 1989, the school organized sessions of improvement course to Commissioned Officers;
  • In 1992, began the sessions of Command and Staff Course;
  • In 2007, the school gives the training course of Air Defence Engineer.

4. Structural organization of the school:

To effectively carry out its missions of supervising the students and implementating the training, the school is equipped with consequent human and material ressources of which:
  • A high level body teaching;
  • Laboratories of specialized scientific training;
  • Workshops for teaching in joint base courses;
  • A Documentation center;
  • Combat equipments….

the Territory Air Defence Higher School is structured as:
  • Department of studies;
  • Department of Management;
  • Workshops for teaching in joint base courses;
  • Socio-cultural Structures (library, hearths…).

5. Various training courses proposed by the Territory Air Defence Higher School:

The school ensures two kinds of training: the Air Defence Engineer Course and a Higher Military Training.

1- The Air Defence Engineer course its duration is 06 years. After one year of Military Training at the Military Academy of Cherchell, the student will follow for two years a general scientific training, then a pre-specialization scientific and technical training during one year and half at the Territory Air Defence Higher School.
There after and at the end of one year and half of specialization, he obtains the diploma of Air Defence Engineer.

- Therefore, this training is subdivided in:
  • A military training of one (01) year at the Military Academy of Cherchell;
  • A general scientific training for two (02) years at the Territory Air Defence Higher School.

- And a training in the speciality for three (03) years including:
  • A scientific and technical pre-specialization training during one (01) year and half;
  • One (1/2) year and half a specialized teaching in the following specialities :Detection and Missiles.

2- The Military Training, is divided in:
  • The Officers Improvement cours, Detection and Control, Ground to Air Riposte, one (01) year duration;
  • The Command and Staff course, Air Defence Speciality for one (01) year duration.
  • Specialized training for one (1) year and a half in the following specialities :Detection and Missiles.
At the end of training, the trainee officers of the Territory Air Defence Forces Command are subjected to the presentation of oath, organized within the ceremony graduation.

Various sport and leisure infrastructures at the Territory Air Defence Higher School:

  • Physical and sport activities:
    • The physical activities constitute an important part of the training program, many outdoors and indoors sport complexes allow the students to practise the sport of his choice: combat sports - Football – Basket-ball …
    Local and regional meetings, tournaments and challenges interns and inter-schools are organized in a regular basis.

  • Cultural and leisure activities:
    • Students also have the possibility of practising free activities, at their relaxation and rest moments. The student can thus enroll to one of the many clubs where he can devote himself to the practice of music, Chess, photography…

Environment and daily life:

The immediate proximity of sea and the existence of many parks, make the life very pleasant at the Territory Air Defence Higher School. The students are taken care of entirely:
  • A pre-wage;
  • Accommodation in individual rooms;
  • Restauration.

Sporting infrastructures:

Important human and material potentialities are accessible to the student, to ensure his balance and his spiritual ,moral and physical well being. Among these infrastructures:
  • A movie theatre;
