A conference entitled: “ Reactions on the outbreak of the liberation revolution 1954/1955”
At the beginning of his intervention, the professor addressed the big surprise effect that the outbreak of the revolution had on the political actors in both France and Algeria, because its leaders were not well known and all the actions were taken in secrecy.
He ,then, moved to the internal reactions on the outbreak of the revolution ,including the national movement reactions which were divergent between those who were sceptic and others who had doubts about the revolution success, also the reaction of the colonial authorities in Algeria which from the beginning tried to minimize the shock that struck France, by pretending that the actions were limited in scope and impact and performed by a band of outlaws.
After that, he shed light on the reactions of the surrounding world like European countries and the United States of America that fully supported the colonial authorities as well as the Arab countries late reaction.
In application of the People’s National Army communication plan of the year 2024, and in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious liberation revolution, the Territory Air Defense Forces Command has organized , on November 06th, a conference entitled “ Reactions on the outbreak of the liberation revolution 1954/1955 .” given by Professor HOUARI Moussa, a professor of History at the University of Algiers II.
