In execution of the general communications plan of the National People's Army for the year 2025, the Territorial Air Defense Forces Command organized on october 25^th, 2025 a conference entitled “The Battles of the National Liberation Army” “ the Great Battle of SOUK AHRAS”, presented by “MOUSSA Houari” Professor of history at Algiers II University.

At the start of his conference, the doctor has referred to the general context that has characterized that period of the history of the Liberation Revolution, by addressing to the political and military circumstances that have preceded the Great Battle of SOUK AHRASK which has constituted a pivotal moment in the course of the war against the oppressive French colonization, the professor has then facilitated the different historical and military aspects of the battle by pointing out the direct and indirect reasons that lead to its outbreak as well as the ground’s conditions that surrounded it in terms of financing or arms supply or the movement of the fighters through the east borders.
The professor has also exposed the courses of the battle that took place in the period from april 26th to may 3rd, 1958 explaining the ferocity of the of the battles that had waged our fighters of the National Revolution Army against the Colonization Forces heavily armed of modern military supplies at the time. The Professor has then summons the direct and indirect results of the battle where it was considered a heroism epic that proved the courage of our brave fighters as well as their persistence to continue the struggle whatever were the consequences.

At the end of the conference, the Professor Moussa HOUARI has confirmed that the great battle of SOUK AHRAS has written a line of glory in a chapter of the shining history of Algeria and has revealed the glorious perseverance of the sons of the homeland from different regions whose their pure blood has mixed for the sake of one goal which is the Independence of Algeria and restoring the National sovereignty.
