The headquarters ensure the execution of the formation in the Academy with the basic training for cadets recruited in favour of the different forces and structures of the Ministry of defence and those who obtained the baccalaureate with an average of 12c, aged between 18-21, and physically and psychologically qualified.
The basic training is divided into :
- An intensive basic and common military training for a year;
- An Academic formation, culminated by a bachelors and a master's degree in parallel with a continued military training.
This Basic Training is executed at the annexed School Abane Ramdane, which last 1a year and aim at :
- Indoctrinate Military Classes for cadets;
- Prepare the cadets physically and psychologically to face the expected combat situations in all places and circumstances;
- Rehabilate the student to conduct a continued military training in parallel with a scientific and Academic Formation as a second phase.
The Academic Formation is carried out at the Military Academy according to the Bachelor Master and Doctorate system. This Formation allows the trainee officers and cadets to obtain a high Academic degree in the scientific and technological fields certified by the Ministry of high education and scientific research.
The first phase : The Academic Formation lasts (03) three years addressed to students who finished the basic and common military training. The formation is culminated by a bachelor's degree in the following specialities :
- Energytical mechanic;
- Electronics;
- Computing;
- Cyber Security Systems.
The second phase : is intended for officers who obtained a bachelor's degree in energetical mechanics, and haid spent two (02) years of active service in the people's National Army Units. It lasts two (02) years and it is culminated a master's degree in energy mechanics; specializing in energy and propulsion systems.
In support of high Academic Education, the Directorate of scientific and Technological Research sponsors scientific research education that aim at improving the educational process through :
- Applied work at the level of research laboratories;
- Bachelor's degree projects;
- Master's degree projects;
- Scientific research projects, scientific experiments for research professors (in the framework of preparing for a doctoral dissertation).
It is carried out in parallel with university training, and during this training, students undergo several internships, including:
Internships in a mountainous area, internship in a commando paratroopers and applied internship at ground battle fields units as well as a driving training.
To perform its tasks in the best way, the academy has a significant pedagogical materiel base which is permanently renewed and modernized and it is mainly represented in:
a-The Annexed school Chahid Abane Ramdane: which undertakes the task of joint military training for the benefit of the students, officers, recruits, and on the basic of a good certificate; the structures of the Ministry of National Defence, the school has modern classrooms and a conference room, training fields and shooting fields in addition to an equestrian centre.
b-Scientific laboratories : Keeping up with the rapidly modern technologies in various fields and specializations, the Directorate of Scientific and Technological Research includes five (05) research laboratories.
