In implementation of the instructions of Mister General of Army Ben Ali Ben Ali, Republican Guard Commander, aimed on one hand, to preserve the green area within the units and to inculcate an environmental culture to the Republican Guard personnel on the other hand, a large reforestation campaign was carried out at the Republican Guard Command’s units.

    

The kick-off of this campaign was given, on March 18^th, 2021, by Mister Major General Ayad Tahar, Chief of Staff of the Republican Guard Command at the 11^th Regiment of Cavalry and Escort of the Republican Guard Command, with the participation of all categories of officers, non-commissioned officers and men of rank. Through this campaign, forest and ornamental trees were planted at the forest neighboring the regiment.

    

It should be noted that a large reforestation campaign was organized, simultaneously, at the military cities, with a massive participation of resident children, under the theme: «a tree for each child», in order to conduct an environmental culture to youth generation, in a climate marked by a spirit of fraternity and cohesion between the participants, with the strict respect of the sanitary measures taken to face the pandemic of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

In this regard, it is our duty to connect the past with the present, remembering the path of our brave ancestors of the People’s National Army, who took, during the seventies, the responsibility for ensuring the realization of the mega-project named «Green Barrier» for which the Command at that time mobilized all the human and material means for the planting of huge amounts of shrubs, and that, with their brothers, son of brave Algerian people, giving the best example of the strengthening of the army’s relationship with its Nation.
