In implementation of the annual program of national and international military sports activities for the year 2023/2024, approved by General, Chief of People’s National Army staff, the Republican Guard Command organized the national military equestrian sports championship open to Joint Services, from 4^th to 10^th November 2023, at the equestrian quarry of the 11^th Cavalry and Escort Regiment of the Republican Guard Command.

The opening of this championship was presided over by Major-General, Inspector of the Republican Guard, on 07th November 2023, in the presence of executives of the Republican Guard Command, representatives of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Prison Administration and Reintegration.

In his opening speech, Major-General emphasized the importance of sporting activity for military personnel, and the determination of the Republican Guard Command to develop and promote different types of sports, in particular equestrian sport linked to our authentic civilizational and cultural heritage, as well as parade, one of the fundamental pillars of the Republican Guard.

This championship saw the participation of (91) riders divided into fourteen (14) teams from the various Forces Commands, Military Regions, Directorates and Higher Schools of People's National Army, in addition to riders from the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Prison Administration and Reintegration.

During the championship, four (04) competitions in show jumping and dressage disciplines in various categories took place, in addition to two endurance competitions, distance 20 km and the chase race, and was marked by strong competitiveness between the participants.

• - 2^nd place, Sergeant First Class GOUISSEM Med Cherif from R.G.C on the horse KASKAJU;

• - 1^st place, Captain DERDOURI Med El-Amine from R.G.C on the horse ELHAMRI;
• - 2^nd place, Civil Agent CHERIF Yacine from G.D.N.S on the horse AMADIUS;
• - 3^rd place, Staff Sergeant KESSAB Mahfoud from R.G.C on the horse FLOUSSEN.

Endurance Categor, distance 20km :

• - 1^st place, Staff Sergeant BENYAHIA Fahd from R.G.C on the horse BESKRI;
• - 2^nd place, PCC KHELIFAOUI Fouad from Higher School of Transmissions/1MR on the horse DJAMEL EL KHAYL;
• - 3^rd place, Penitentiary Agent MIMOUNI Youcef from the General Directorate of Penitentiary Administration and Rehabilitation on the horse CHOUJAA EL MISK.

Chase race category :

• - 1^st place, Sergeant ALLAL Zakaria from R.G.C on the horse BIDJAD;
• - 2^nd place, Sergeant First class SLIMANI Kada Med Amine from 2^nd MR Command on the horse EL FARES;
• - 3^rd place, Sergeant BOUDARI Saber from R.G.C on the horse BOSTANE.

It should be noted that the Republican Guard Command provided all the human and material resources required to ensure the success of the event.

At the end of the competition, Mister the Major-General, Inspector of the Republican Guard, honored the first-place winners with medals and prizes, and presented certificates of honor to the participating delegations presidents, all in a good atmosphere, followed by the signing of the Golden Book.
