Within the framework of the implementation of the annual program of national and international military sports activities for the year 2024/2025, approved by Mister The General, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of People’s National Army Staff, the Republican Guard Command hosted, during the period from 11^th to 15^th May 2025, at the level of the Headquarters, the activities of the basket-ball champion tournament, with the participation of the Republican Guard team, and that of the National Gendarmerie Command, in addition to (06) six other teams representing the six commands of the military regions.

       The opening and closing ceremony of this competition, were headed by Mister the General, head of the Human Resources Department of the Republican Guard Command, who emphasized in his speech that “… the basket-ball contributes significantly to the mental and physical development of the soldiers who practice it, allowing them to overcome obstacles and face tasks in all circumstances…” adding “… that this occasion is an opportunity for all of us to work to raise the flag of Algerian military sport, and an incentive for each of you to represent your unit and your region in the best possible way, as well as a motivation to achieve positive results that serve military sport …”.

   

       This tournament witnessed a strong competition among the participating teams, where the team of the National Gendarmerie Command was crowned with the tournament cup after winning the 1^st place, while the team of the Republican Guard Command won the 2^nd place, and the 3^rd place was won by the team of the Command of the 1^st Military Region.

   

       At the end of this competition, medals were awarded to the winners and the guests were distinguished, in good conditions during a ceremony characterized by rigorous organization and a high sportsmanship spirit among all the participants.
