The National Military Taekwondo Cup
The Republican Guard Command's team gets distinguished and wins the first place

In implementation of the annual program of national and international military sports activities for the year 2022/2023, approved by Mister the General, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, the National Military Taekwondo Cup took place at the Headquarters Group of the Republican Guard Command during the period from February 26th to March 1st, 2023, with the participation of 19 teams (male and female) representing the different Forces Commands, Military Regions, Major Units as well as the Higher and Application Schools.

The opening of this sports event was chaired by Mister the Major General, Inspector of the Republican Guard, who delivered a welcome speech, through which he emphasized the fact that military sport is one of the pillars of training and an indispensable means for the physical and moral preparation of combatants, urging all participants to show sportsmanship and discipline.


  

The organization of this kind of sports events reflects the great interest of the High Command of the People's National Army in the different activities, and its attachment to the training of professional athletes in all disciplines, able to represent the People's National Army honorably in the different national and international competitions.

This sports event saw the presence of senior executives of the Republican Guard Command, as well as representatives of national sports organizations, and witnessed a strong competition between the athletes, where the team of the Republican Guard Command won with brilliance and merit the first place in male’s teams.


  


  

At the end of this competition, and under the command of Mister the Major General, Inspector of the Republican Guard, the participating delegations as well as the winners were honored with a cup and medals, whose technical results were as follows:

  • - 1st place, Lance Corporal Handai Said, from Air Forces Command;
  • - 2nd place, Corporal Mguessem Amer, from Land Forces Command;
  • - 3rd place, Corporal Agoun Youcef, from Republican Guard Command.


Poomsae Specialty (under 40 years old) Men:

  • - 1st place, Sergeant Merdassi Nacir, from 2nd Military Region;
  • - 2nd place, Lance Corporal Felak Ali, from Air Forces Command;
  • - 3rd place, Lance Corporal Aouadi Amer, from Land Forces Command.





Poomsae Specialty (under 30 years old) women:

  • - 1st place, Staff Sergeant Bouguetaya Mouna, from Naval high School/1st MR;
  • - 2nd place, Sergeant Bazri Lydia, from 1st Military Region.



Poomsae Specialty (under 40 years old) women:

  • - 1st place, PCA Rabouh Salima, from 1st Military Region.



Kirogi Specialty by teams (Men):

  • - 1st place, Republican Guard Command’s team;
  • - 2nd place, 1st Military Region’s team;
  • - 3rd place, 2nd Military Region’s team along with National Gendarmerie Command's team.

Kirogi Specialty by teams (women):

  • - 1st place, Application School of the Marines Troop’s team /5th Military Region;
  • - 2nd place, Naval high School/1st Military Region’s team;
  • - 3rd place, Territory Air Defence Forces's team along with 1st Military Region’s team.
