On the occasion of the celebration of the (71
st) anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Liberation Revolution, and in line with all units of the People’s National Army, Major General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, Commander of the Naval Forces, supervised the ceremony of raising the national colors at the headquarters of the Naval Forces Command “Chahid Souidani Boujemaa”, in the presence of all officers and personnel.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Declaration of November 1
st, 1954, as well as the order of the day of Mr the General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, were read. In his message, he recalled the great sacrifices of the Algerian people to regain their sovereignty, freedom, and dignity, urging all members of the People’s National Army to demonstrate a high sense of awareness, vigilance, and prudence, and to continue their rigorous and sincere work in order to preserve the legacy of the martyrs and safeguard the security and sovereignty of the country.
Afterwards, the national colors were raised to the tune of the national anthem. Simultaneously, the northern quay of the Naval Base of Algiers witnessed the firing of (71) cannon shots, executed by a detachment of the Republican Guard, in commemoration of this anniversary. The attendees then observed a minute of silence in tribute to the souls of our valiant martyrs.
