The Naval Forces Command organizes open doors at the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kébir
In implementation of the communication plan of the People’s National Army 2024-2025, and within the framework of commemorating the fifty-seventh (57th) anniversary of sovereignty on the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kébir February 2nd,1968, the Naval Forces Command organized open doors in February 2nd and 3rd, 2025 at the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kébir Chahid “BOUSSIF Belhadji” West Maritime Façade/2ndMR. Mr. The Brigadier General Commander of the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kébir/West Maririme Façade/2nd RM supervised the opening ceremony with the presence of civil and military local authorities and national media representatives.
This event aims to approaching citizens to the Naval Forces and getting them to know their missions and vital roles in preserving the national sovereignty at sea throughout visiting the naval units docked at the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kébir, and knowing their operational and technical features and operational and intervention systems and providing information on professional opportunities available in the Naval Forces in order to attract young national competences.
In addition to visiting the floating units, this national event consists a fair showing equipment and modern naval means and documentary shows on the Naval Forces’ history and achievements, and it will be an opportunity to open meetings between the public and the Naval Forces officials to answer their questions.
The public is invited to attend and take part in this communicational event aiming to consolidate the links between the People’s National Army and the society, and to support the public concept of the Naval Forces role in protecting the country.
