h47pm, of an urgent sanitary evacuation request of a Turkish sailor, a member of a petroleum ship crew called “SARAJEVO” bearing Malta flag, coming from Libya and heading to Belgium at (28) nautical miles in North Aouana/Jijel, the sailor is 47 years old and was suffering from injuries in the back and inability to move his lower parts due to the fall on board.
Immediately, and in coordination with the Regional Center for Surveillance and Rescue Operations at sea Jijel/5
thMR, a sanitary evacuation operation at sea was launched throughout the engagement of Research and Rescue Helicopter “AS-16” of the 560th Squadron of Research and Rescue Helicopters. The injured Turkish sailor was immediately evacuated to Tahir/Jijel airport and was transferred by the civil protection agents to Tahir/Jijel hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
This operation falls within the framework of the humanitarian missions of the Naval Forces Command Coast-guard units, which reflect the efforts and how careful they are in intervening in order to save human lives at sea in all circumstances.
