A visit of the General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, to the Eastern Maritime Façade/5thMR
The General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, supervised, in June 5th, 2024 at the firing range of the Eastern Maritime Façade in Jijel/5thMR, the course of a naval tactical exercise “Diraa El-Moutawassit - 2024”, included an anti-surface missile firing and special exercises off sea.
Mr. the General accompanied by the Major General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, the Naval Forces Commander and the Major General Noureddine HAMBLI, Commander of the 5thMR followed a presentation at the Principal Naval Base in Jijel on this exercise presented by the Major General the Commander of the Eastern Maritime Façade. Subsequently, and on board the Command and Deployment Ship of the Forces "Kalaat Beni-Abbès", the General, Chief of Staff of People's National Army followed the course of the exercise anti-surface missile firing. The floating units reporting to the Eastern Maritime Façade, which carried out this exercise, demonstrated high professionalism, reflected in perfect cohesion between the formations engaged and careful execution of the various planned stages. The destruction, with high precision, of the naval objective reflected, for its part, the good preparation of the forces engaged in this exercise.
Mr. the General also followed the execution of special naval exercises off the sea in which the participant crews showed a discipline and rigorous engagement of the set plans and a perfect mastery in different weapons and materials; this confirms the development and operational readiness reached by our units during the few recent past years.
At the end, Mr. the General inspected the participating units in this exercise.
Mr. the General supervised the inauguration of the Regional Logistic Base of the African North Region Capacity in jijel, regarded as one of the strategic mechanisms of the African Union for management and conflicts resolution as well as setting the peace and security foundations at both regional and continental scale.
After that, Mr. the General listened to a presentation on this Regional Logistic Base, he also met high officials and personnel, who confirmed their determination to honour the People’s National Army within the framework of this important regional mechanism, particularly throughout presenting a performance that reflects the reputation of their army and their country that always endeavour to reach higher ranks.
