General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army on a working and inspection visit to the Naval Forces Command headquarters and the Naval Basis of Algiers
Within the framework of his inspection visits to different components of People's National Army during the Holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA carried out, on Thursday, April 06th, 2023, a working and inspection visit to the Naval Forces headquarters “Chahid Souidani Boujemaa” where he met its high officials and personnel, before proceeding at the Naval Basis of Algiers “Chahid Hero Amar Ali so-called Ali La pointe”, the inauguration of high sea patrol vessel el Moutassadi” n° 940 which reinforced our naval fleet recently.
The visit started from the Naval Forces Command headquarters and after the welcoming ceremony by Major General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, Naval Forces Commander, the General observed a minute of silence on the soul of the martyr and the hero “Souidani Boujemaa” who’s the Naval Forces Command bears his name and laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stelebefore reciting the fatiha in his memory and that of the brave Chouhada.
Then, the General delivered an orientation speech, which was followed by the personnel of the six Military Regions units via videoconference system, in which he confirmed that the People’s National Army passed through major steps in the course of making a modern and professional Army consistently seeking to acquire all strength reasons.
The General pointed out that the purchase of the high sea patrol vessel “El Moutassadi” falls within a studied strategy aiming to modernizing and updating the Algerian Navy fleet, thus improving the People’s National Army’s defense capacities.
The General followed a comprehensive presentation made by the Major General, Naval Forces Commander, it included all the aspects related to the implementation of the Naval Forces Command development plan notably the combat preparation of units and personnel in addition to the naval fleet maintenance.
After that, the General moved to the Naval Basis of Algiers, accompanied by the Major General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, where he proceeded the inauguration of the high sea patrol vessel “El Moutassadi” and inspected this new boat. The General inspected different departments of the boat and looked closely at all its parts and listened to full explanations on its missions, components and its characteristics presented by the vessel Commander and some of its crew members.
And on this occasion, the General gave the crew of the high sea patrol vessel “El Moutassadi” a set of instructions and orientations that include the necessity of preserving, maintaining and exploiting it with the required efficiency, and from their sides, the vessel crew expressed their happiness and pride with this achievement which is regarded as a qualitative addition in consolidating and reinforcing the naval fleet of the Naval Forces Command.
At the end of the visit, the General took a souvenir photo with the first crew staff of the high sea patrol vessel “El Moutassadi”.
