The Naval Forces Commander inspects the Naval Detachment after implementing the Training Campaign “SUMMER-2025”
At the end of implementing the Training Campaign “SUMMER-2025” Mr. the Major-General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, the Naval Forces Commander supervised in August 6th, 2025, the inspection ceremony of the Naval Detachment composed of the School Ship “LA SOUMMAM”, n° 937 and the Sailing Ship “EL MELLAH”, n° 938 after implementing the Training Campaign “SUMMER-2025” for the first and the second year students career officers of the fundamental training at the Naval Higher School in Tamenfoust/1stMR during the period of July 2nd to August 5th, 2025.
The training program included two main tracks:
The first track: The School Ship “LA SOUMMAM”, n° 937, which included the navigation in the eastern basin of the Mediterranean with stopovers in the ports of Istanbul Turkey, Oran, Annaba and Tarente Italy.
The second track: The School Sailing Ship “EL MELLAH” n° 938, which included the navigation in the western basin of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean with stopovers in the ports of Lisbon Portugal, Oran, Annaba and Tarente Italy.
This Training Campaign is an important stage in the training course of the students career officers of the fundamental training at the Naval Higher School in Tamenfoust/1stMR, which contributed to the consolidation of their field readiness and enhancing their command skills throughout the application of their academic knowledge on board by executing different exercises and activities. The students officers also paid many visits to cultural and tourist sites of the cities in which they had stopovers in their ports, they discovered the historical and the cultural heritage of these cities.
This Training Campaign is an essential step in preparing competent officers able to command the naval units in the future.
