Operation of sanitary rescue and evacuation at sea of foreign sailors off Tipaza coast
     Within the framework of the humanitarian missions of the Naval Forces Command Coast-guard units, related to human lives rescue at sea, and after the National Center of Surveillance and Rescue Operations of the Coast-guard National Service of the Naval Forces Command received a distress signal, in February 11th, 2024, of a dredging vessel named “NOVADRAGAMAR” bearing the Spanish flag with three foreign nationalities sailors on board, two (02) Portuguese and one (01) Dominican in a state of danger one (01) mile north Fouka city in Tipaza province.

  


     Immediately after that, and in coordination with the Regional Center for Surveillance and Rescue Operations at sea in Algiers/1stMR, a rescue and evacuation process of the dredging vessel crew by engaging an AS-12 helicopter from the Squadron of Research and Rescue Helicopters/1stMR and the coastal intervention team/Bouharoun reporting to the Coast-guard Territorial Team Cherchell/1stMR. These units could rescue and evacuate three sailors to Zeralda public hospital for the necessary treatment.

  

  


     This operation confirms the efforts made by the Naval Forces Command Coast-guard units and their intervention and assistance at sea for human lives rescue in all circumstances.
