The Major-General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, Naval Forces Commander, paid a field visit to the West Maritime Façade units/2
ndMR from April 12
th to 15
th, 2023 where he stood at the level of readiness of units combat and gave a set of instructions and orientations to our executives and listened to their concerns and suggestions in terms of the implementation of the annual orientation of forces preparation and contributing to its success and continuing the development and modernization course to realize all the set objectives.
The Major-General, Naval Forces Commander started his inspection visit from the principal Naval Base Mers El Kebir, where he was received by the Major-General Abdelhak BENIYAD, the West Maritime Façade Commander/2
ndMR. After the reception ceremony in the principal Naval Base Mers El Kebir, the Major-General, Naval Forces Commander laid a wreath at the memorial monument of the Martyr “Boucif BELHADJI” whose name bears the Naval Base headquarters. After that, the Major-General, Naval Forces Commander held a meeting with Commanders of the West Maritime Façade units where he followed a comprehensive presentation on the combat level preparation of the Façade units presented by Chief of staff of the West Maritime Façade, then he inspected the Marine Construction and Repair Establishment and the Naval Munition Estalishment. The Major-General, Naval Forces Commander confirmed his keen interest on giving moral and material support to make more efforts and continue to work with firm determination to realize the set objectives as in securing our maritime borders and confront with firmness and rigor all kinds of organized crime and all possible threats that would jeopardize the safety of our maritime territory.



During the second day of the visit, the Major-General, Naval Forces Commander inspected different units spread across the territory of the West Maritime Façade/2
ndMR to stand on the readiness of personnel and materials where he listened to situation presentation made by units’ commanders. He, then, gave a set of instructions and recommendations related to the necessity of keeping the operational readiness in its high levels.
In the third and the last day of the visit, the Major-General, Naval Forces Commander held an assessment meeting on his inspection visit to the West Maritime Façade units, he also proceeded, during this occasion, on the inauguration of the building of the officers’ hotel number 27 which will undoubtedly contribute to provide our naval executives with better living conditions. The Major-General ended the visit with signing the guestbook.
