Mr General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, on a working and inspection visit to the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kebir/2ndMR
     Mr General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, paid a working and inspection visit to the Principal Naval Base Mers El Kebir “Chahid Bouceif BELHADJI”/2ndMR in January 15th, 2024 where he was received by Mr the Major-General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, Naval Forces Commander.

  

     During this visit, Mr the General listened to a presentation made by the Major General, Naval Forces Commander, followed by a comprehensive presentation made by the Director General of the Maritime Shipbuilding and Repair Company on the status of progress of the current projects, before inspecting workshops of company’s maritime shipbuilding and checking projects in progress, as well as naval units and ships of national economic establishments under repair.

  

     After that, Mr General proceeded to the inauguration and naming ceremony of the first Tug Boat manufactured at the Maritime Shipbuilding and Repair Company, and put it into service, before inspecting this new achievement which reinforced our Naval Forces within the framework of updating and modernization program of our naval fleet, he checked different divisions of the ship and closely checked all its components, and listened to comprehensive explanations of their missions, components and features given by the team in charge of realization.

  

     On this occasion, Mr General congratulated all the personnel who contributed to this important achievement, giving the executives a series of instructions and directives on the necessity of preserving, maintaining and exploiting it in accordance with the recognized standards, and in turn, the team in charge of manufacturing the Tug Boat expressed their pride and relief with this achievement which will constitute a qualitative addition to our Naval Forces fleet. After that, everyone took a souvenir photo with Mr General, Chief of Staff of People's National Army.
