In commemoration of the Emigration National Day of October 17
th, 1961 and in implementation of the instructions of Mr. The President of the Republic, Higher Commander of Armed Forces Minister of National Defense, the Naval Forces Command organized in October, 16
th, 2025 at its headquarters « Chahid Souidani Boujemaa » in Zeralda, an observation of a minute of silence on the martyrs’ souls of October 17
th, 1961 who fell victims of the barbaric oppression during the peaceful manifestations when Algerians came out denouncing colonialism and demanding independence and freedom.
The organization of this stance took place at 11.00am under the supervision of Mr. The Major General Mahfoud BENMEDDAH, the Naval Forces Commander, where everybody observed a minute of silence to have mercy on the souls of martyrs as a memory of their noble sacrifices and to confirm their faithfulness of their resilience course.
This stance that was organized in all the Naval Forces’ units and structures across the nation falls within the context of the People’s National Army interest in preserving the national memory and instilling the immortal values of november in the souls of the personnel.
