Within the framework of the missions and humanitarian efforts of the Coast-Guard units of the Naval Forces Command, related to human lives rescue at sea, and following the reception of the National Center for Surveillance and Rescue Operations at Sea, in September 18^th, 2024 at 11:50 am of a request from the Coordination Center for Rescue Operations at Sea in Ankara related to the urgent medical evacuation of a 67 years old Turkish sailor, a crew member of the commercial vessel named "SIFTRI" bearing the Liberian flag after having suffered a heart attack and being in a critical situation.



     The National Center for Surveillance and Rescue Operations at Sea launched, immediately and in coordination with the Regional Center for Surveillance and Rescue Operations at Sea in Jijel/5^th MR, a medical evacuation operation at sea through the engagement of an AS-12 Search and Rescue Helicopter from the 560^th Search and Rescue Helicopter Squadron. After locating the ship by the above-mentioned helicopter twenty-seven (27) nautical miles north of Cap Rosa in Collo, the Turkish sailor was quickly evacuated to the El-Hadjar hospital to receive the first aid, he was then transferred to the Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Annaba to receive the necessary treatment.
