The official opening of the combat preparation year at the Higher School of the National Gendarmerie

 
     On October 1st, 2025, the Major General Commander by interim of the National Gendarmerie presided over the official opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 combat preparation year, hosted by the Higher School of the National Gendarmerie in Zeralda. The ceremony was attended by the Major General Commander of the Defense Operations Center, representing the Employment-Preparation Department of the General Staff of the People's National Army, alongside senior officials of the National Gendarmerie, units and formations commanders, and representatives of various directorates and central structures. On this occasion, a guiding meeting was held and broadcast via video conference, enabling wide participation of National Gendarmerie officers and staff across the entire national territory.
 
  
     The opening events included specialized workshops in various fields of activity, such as maintaining order, road security, aerial formations, special intervention, crime scene processing, as well as research and development and combat sports fields. The ceremony also featured practical demonstrations and field exercises reflecting the high level of professionalism and readiness of the participating units, alongside displays of samples of modern equipment and means recently provided to the institution.
 
  
     It is worth mentioning that combat preparation constitutes a pivotal stage in the annual program of the National Gendarmerie, due to its essential role in enhancing operational readiness and improving the field performance level of its personnel. A rich and comprehensive program has been outlined for the new preparatory year, including practical exercises, specialized workshops, and training courses aimed at enhancing competence, refining skills, and consolidating the values of discipline and professionalism in line with the requirements of the tasks entrusted to the National Gendarmerie.
