The National Gendarmerie Command organized a tribute ceremony on December 6th, 2023, for the media family, on the occasion of the National Press Day, which falls on October 22ndof each year. The celebration was postponed due to the prevailing situation in Gaza.


     The tribute ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by a speech of the General of the National Gendarmerie Commander, read on his behalf by the Head of the Communication Department. He welcomed the media family, emphasizing that the National Gendarmerie institution, as an integral part of the People’s National Army, has adopted a communication policy stemming from the communication strategy of the Directorate of Information and Communication for the Staff of the People’s National Army, highlighted that all doors are open to the press, in its various forms, to obtain security information within the framework of applicable laws.


    He also underlined that the media is an effective partner of the National Gendarmerie, contributing to efforts for security and public tranquility, while protecting the country from any attempt that violate its sanctity, and thanks to the media, various forms of crime are fought before they spread. In conclusion, he affirmed that the National Gendarmerie’s doors are open to all media, Subsequently, journalists from various media institutions, in the circumstances print, audiovisual, also electronic media, were honored, and a visual report on the “relationship between the National Gendarmerie and the media” was presented. Some National Gendarmerie officers whointervened throughvarious media platformswere also honored. Additionally, the first photographer in the National Gendarmerie from the 1963 class was honored. Finally, to enclose, a discussion wayhad been opened between the National Gendarmerie officials, journalists, to listen to any concerns.
