National Gendarmerie Command organizes a study day on the contribution of geospatial techniques to road traffic safety

 
     On the day of March 15, 2023, Mr General, Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie, chaired the opening of the study day entitled "The contribution of geospatial techniques to road traffic safety", organized at the National Gendarmerie Command headquarters in Chéraga and in which representatives of various organizations active in the field of road safety participated. This study day aims at introducing the concepts related to geographic information systems and road traffic safety, and to demonstrate the contribution of geographic information systems and geospatial technologies in the field of road safety and decision-making support. It also allows the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of geographic information and road safety by discussing the various methods and procedures necessary for road safety, in addition to discussing new developments in the field of exploitation of modern road safety technology with various stakeholders, and promote the use of geographic information systems and geospatial technologies and generalize their use in the field of road safety.

  

    Interventions by representatives of the various bodies active in the field of road safety as well as executives from the national gendarmerie were followed by discussions with the audience. They made it possible to formulate a series of recommendations likely to develop the means of improving communication and coordination between the sectors concerned through the establishment of cooperation frameworks and multilateral partnerships between the various actors active in the field, and to find the necessary mechanisms to unite efforts, particularly in terms of developing solutions to guarantee road safety.
