On January 17th , 2023, the Brigadier General, Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie, has supervised the inauguration of the national forum activities entitled “The Contribution of Criminal Anthropology to the Judicial Investigation”, organized at the level of the National Institute for Forensic Evidence and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie in Bouchaoui, with the presence of some university professors specialized on the Criminal anthropology field, officers and executives from the Ministry of National Defense, and Representatives of Home Ministry ,local authorities and Territory planning, Ministry of Justice, the Ministry for the Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Culture and Arts, Ministry of Moujahideen and Rights holders, Ministry of Public Works, Hydraulics and Basic Infrastructures, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Health, and representatives of the General Directorate of National Security, and General Directorate of Civil Protection in addition to active national associations in this field.


    The activities of this forum aim to enhance the openness of the National Institute for Forensic Evidence and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie to the university community and scientific research, as well as to strengthen the its efforts as a criminal anthropology pioneer in Algeria, as well as to provide an interactive platform to exchange the experiences and unify the views, the scientific and practical procedures among different Actors and interveners on the anthropology field in Algeria, which would contribute to promote and develop this domain, whose mission is to answer the judicial authorities questions through the scientific osteology study as well as the odontology study, which enables the estimation of sex and age.
