The National Gendarmerie organizes a national seminar titled Common Diseases in Working Dogs

 
     As part of efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the canine resource in carrying out operational missions, and in line with the directives of the National Gendarmerie Command, Brigadier General, Commander of the Border Guard Units, oversaw the opening of the national seminar titled “Common Diseases in Working Dogs” on April 24th , 2025, at the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie Command. The seminar was organized by the National Gendarmerie's Canine Reproduction Training Center in Bainem with a cooperation of the Research and Development Center of the National Gendarmerie Command. This scientific gathering aimed to shed light on the diseases affecting working dogs, classify them according to their severity, and propose effective preventive and therapeutic mechanisms, ensuring the sustained readiness of this vital asset and enhancing its field performance. Scientific lectures were delivered by experts in veterinary medicine and scientific research, followed by open discussion sessions aimed at exchanging experiences and knowledge among the various participants. The seminar proceedings followed a detailed program that comprehensively addressed its main themes.
 

  
    This major national event brought together Veterinary frameworks from the Ministry of National Defense, representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, as well as representatives from the General Directorate of National Security, the General Directorate of Customs, the General Directorate of Civil Protection, the Veterinary Inspectorate of the Algiers, the National Center for Artificial Insemination and Genetic Improvement, the Pasteur Institute, Hadi Flici Hospital in El Kettar, the Rabies fight Association, and Himayat Eslougui’ Association. The Regional Commands of the National Gendarmerie also participated via videoconference, enabling wider participation of field actors in enriching the discussions and producing practical, actionable recommendations.
