On July 27^th, 2025, Major General Sid Ahmed BERROUMANA, Commander by interim of the National Gendarmerie, presided over the appointment ceremony of Brigadier General Ait Maamar Rachid as the new Commander of the First Regional Command of the National Gendarmerie of Blida, succeeding Colonel Cheikh Hamed, as part of the implementation of the annual transfer plan for National Gendarmerie officers for the year 2025.      On this occasion, the General delivered a speech in which he called upon the personnel of the First Regional Command to rally around their new leader and work under his authority with military discipline and obedience, in service of the institution’s goals and in full respect of the Republic's laws. He emphasized that the National Gendarmerie is a fundamental pillar of the national security system, due to its key roles in maintaining public order and protecting people and property, in close coordination with other security agencies.      At the conclusion of his address, the General extended his best wishes for success to Brigadier General Ait Maamar Rachid in his new duties, urging everyone to support and assist him with sincerity and loyalty to achieve the desired objectives and enhance performance levels. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Colonel Cheikh Hamed for his dedicated and sincere efforts during his command period. The ceremony continued with the handing over and receiving of the national flag, followed by the signing of the transfer of authority report and the Golden Book of the command.
