The National Gendaremerie Road Security School of Ain M’lila, is a specialized training structure. It’s one of the People’s
National Army training structure. Located in Oum El-Bouaghi’ wilaya, 5th Military Region. In charge of preparing and qualifying the human resource
of the Roads Security of the National Gendarmerie Territorial Units and other various
military structures and statutory bodies. Thus for the interest of the friendly countries within framework of the internal and external co-operation
by assuring a security mission of the road users movements and their properties on the axes of the road network, and to perform the road traffic
police functions which the territorial competence guaranteed by the law, in order to reduce the aggravation of the traffic accidents phenomenon and
their social dramas results for Algerian families and expensive financial losses for the Treasury.
Creation
The roots of this specialized training structure in the road security field go back to the day after Algeria’s independence
in 1962, when it was a motorcyclist’s squadron at Ben Aknoun commune in Algiers, entrusted with the tasks of schooling and training and the road police
services at the same time.
-In 1967, this squadron was transferred to a specialized center for motorcycles and canine taming in Blida, where the first
motorcycle schooling and training nucleus was formed in the National Gendarmerie.
- In 1988, the motorcycle schooling and training was transferred to the National Gendarmerie Non-Commissioned Officers School
in Sidi Bel Abbes, to ensure open training courses to obtain a military driving license category « H » for the benefit of the National Gendarmerie
officers and non-commissioned officers.
-In 2001, the National Gendarmerie Motorcycle Training Center was established in Baïnam to respond to the growing needs in
specialization training for the benefit of the National Gendarmerie and various other military and foreigner structures in the framework of
cooperation with brotherly countries.
-In 2019, this center was upgraded to the National Gendarmerie Road Security School in Baïnam, in 1st Military Region of Blida,
by ministerial decree, filling the Command order to adopt an excellence training pole in the road security field.
-In 2022, its headquarters was transferred to Ain M’lila (Oum El-Bouaghi) in the 5th Military Region of Constantine.
