Brigadier General Sid Ahmed BERROUMANA was born on November 3rd, 1963, in Algiers.

The Brigadier General Sid Ahmed BERROUMANA held the following positions:
  • Specialized Engineer at the computing Service of the National Gendarmerie Command (1987-1989, 1990-1995);
  • Head of the Implementation Office at the computing Service of the National Gendarmerie Command (1995-2000);
  • Head of the Press and Public Relations Office at the National Gendarmerie Command (2000-2004);
  • Director of Criminalistics at the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie (2006-2014);
  • Director General of the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie (2014-2021);
  • Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie (2021-2025).

Current Position:
He is currently serving as Commander of the National Gendarmerie by interim since April 19th, 2025.
Brigadier General Sid Ahmed BERROUMANA has advanced through the military ranks and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2018.
